about

This track is taken from the album Paul Liddell & Delphians - LIVE. The album was recorded at a gig in a tiny room upstairs at The Grey Horse pub in Whitburn Village, Sunderland. There were only 80 people at the gig. I hope you're enjoying the intimate vibe of the album. Thanks!

lyrics

I suppose you think it feels like electricity
But it's really just a playground for the phantoms of your history
'cos you're stuck in your brain with the shame and the shackles of misery
There's lots of time for complaining/and savouring each little victory

'cos with you there's no seeing beyond the obvious
There's no feeling beyond the loneliness
I could pull out your feathers/and break back your wings
Tie you in knots and then pull off the strings
But you wouldn't feel a thing, would you?
You wouldn't feel a thing.

I suppose you think it feels like/your world is in motion
But I'm seriously starting to question your intelligence quotient
'cos you're stuck in a time when your presence inspired devotion
But it's all in your mind/you're just another drop in the ocean

'cos with you there's no seeing beyond the obvious
There's no feeling beyond the loneliness
You say you need some more dubloons/to be someone
We're just here for a second/and then we are gone
You've never felt a thing, have you?
You've never felt a thing

I'd come up to see you/and meet you halfway
But it's hard to predict what you're feeling today
Misery or victory - it's all electricity
and St. Elmo's fire is coming to burn you away.

'cos with you there's no seeing beyond the obvious
There's no feeling beyond the loneliness
I could pull out your feathers/and break back your wings
Tie you in knots and then pull off the strings
But you wouldn't feel a thing, would you?
You wouldn't feel a thing.
